YOUR FIRST VISIT

What will your first visit be like?

Dentistry today has so much to offer...restorative and reconstructive dentistry, porcelain veneers and crowns, bonding, white fillings, whitening, implants...what is right for you? It has to begin with a comprehensive exam and diagnosis.

Unless you are visiting us for a Complimentary Consultation or there is some immediate concern, the first visit will involve a thorough exam. If there is an immediate concern, it may need to be addressed first, then followed by a comprehensive evaluation. Before you and Dr. Botbol can determine what is possible for long-term stability with regard to comfort, function, health and esthetics, your current condition is assessed. Your comprehensive exam is a baseline for future comparisons and is the basis for a lifetime master plan for oral health.

The following will be done during your INITIAL EVALUATION:

Review your medical and dental history

Clarifying your concerns, wants and expectations and/or problems

Oral cancer examination (done by dental Hygienist at Hygiene visit)

Tooth examination to check for decay, cracks, wear etc.

    Periodontal ( gum) Examination

Measuring all gum crevices to check for hidden gum disease

Condition (quality, quantity and recession level) of gum tissue

Measurement of mobility or looseness, another sign of problems

Palpation (pressing) of all muscle groups both within and outside the mouth for any signs of discomfort or tension

Occlusal (bite) examination (bite problems can be a cause of dental failures)

Check if all teeth touch equally (engineering check)  and measurement for how teeth bite together

Check how teeth meet when jaw moves in all directions Digital Radiographs

Full mouth series of x rays, 20 views- Using STATE OF THE ART LOW RADIATION DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHY, to show decay, infection, bone condition

After your examination, Dr. Botbol will: Arrange a short 2nd  (COMPLIMENTARY) meeting so he can study all the above information.  Dr. Botbol finds it most beneficial for our patients to do this during his private, non-patient time (with no interruptions such as check ups or emergencies). Dr. Botbol will then review and discuss everything at this meeting with you.

2nd appointment:

Review all findings and discuss ALL of your treatment options (treatment recommendations and sequence) including the best treatment, next best and so forth. You will also be given the option of no treatment at all.  Dr. Botbol will discuss the pros and cons of all options so you can make an educated and informed decision.

Answer all questions to your satisfaction and understanding

Together with you, design a blueprint for your care with and develop an individualized long-term treatment program

Discuss all fees. If your condition warrants further evaluation the following will also be done: Diagnostic study casts (models of your mouth) to analyze on a chewing simulator. They will be used for a baseline as well as for 3D planning and blueprinting.

We look forward to providing you with a dental experience that our patients describe as the best they have ever experienced!
